You may remember our sister company, Better Than Stock. A collection based stock photo service with the goal of delivering beautiful stock photography to bloggers, designers, content creators, while showing women in a way that is authentic. If this is your first time here, read more about Better Than Stock in our previous blog post.

Each of the Better Than Stock Collections comes with 13 high-resolution stock photos for you to use, but how you use them is up to you. You can get a variety of final products using the same image depending on how you crop, resize, and rotate your photo. With our images, what you see is not ALL you get.

Stock Photos: Your Guide to Creative Cropping | Business Betties

Let’s start out using the photo of these adorable little girlfriends walking the beach as an example. Our first cropping composition will use the whole image, as is. That was a bit obvious, right?

Next, let’s focus on the bottom area of the photo. We’ll crop down the image and use this section as a nice abstract background. Are there other areas of this photo that you could use in the same way?

Now, let’s create a composition with a little bit of space for our text. We’ll crop this so the subject is off to one side, leaving plenty of white space for wording.

Lastly, let’s crop in a wide format. Wide format images are necessary for things like Facebook cover photos and newsletter titles.

We just created 5 completely different looking graphics with just one photo. That means you have a minimum of 65 possibilities within a single Better Than Stock collection.
